NEW SOLID STATE MPEG-2 VIDEO PLAYER OFFERS MAINTENANCE FREE OPERATION
Glendora, CA--February 16, 1998--Mackenzie Laboratories, creator of the message repeater industry, announces the introduction of the RSVP(Repetitive Solid state Video Player), a solid state video player which supports MPEG-2 video compression.
Designed for systems installations, the RSVP is a self contained unit which offers programmable playback and repetition of MPEG-2 video and audio. The RSVP utilizes standard PCMCIA flash memory or hard disks as storage media and offers up to thirty minutes of play time. "Standard PCMCIA memory is the key" says Joe Vitale, Mackenzie’s Sales Manager "because it offers cost effective, programmable storage and a transportable medium." Updating the RSVP is as simple as changing the PCMCIA card.
System reliability is also enhanced in that there are no moving parts. RSVP is shock and vibration resistant and is not susceptible to the generation loss and mechanical failures that have plagued traditional video systems such as laser disk and video tape.
MPEG-2 is recognized as the industry standard for video and audio quality. RSVP supports a full range of MPEG-2 bit rate, resolution and aspect ratio combinations to fit any application from near field monitor to large screen projection.
The RSVP is designed and manufactured in the U.S. by Mackenzie Laboratories, which gave birth to the message repeater industry in 1954 with the introduction of the first endless loop tape machine. Since then, Mackenzie has continued to advance the market with enhanced tape and digital systems. The RSVP video system is the perfect compliment to the firms’ existing message-on-hold, digital audio page stacker, digital feedback eliminator and remote download product lines.
