DIGITAL DOWNLOAD MESSAGE ON HOLD AND
STORECASTING SYSTEM ANNOUNCED

Glendora, CA--December 15, 1998--Mackenzie Laboratories, Inc., begins shipment of the TDS-2000 System which is designed for digital transfer of message on hold and storecasting material via modem.

Building on Mackenzie's rich history of providing the audio messaging industry with innovative systems with unsurpassed reliability, the TDS-2000 will re-define message on hold and storecasting. TDS-2000 is a total digital solution for transferring audio messaging material from a central location to many remote locations. The system is comprised of Contact Maintenance and Control(C-MAC) software running on a host computer and DV-TEL remote location hardware connected via modem.

C-MAC is a self contained software application for managing client, message and scheduling information. The software is an intuitive graphical user interface(GUI), which manages message composition, scheduling, downloading and reporting, in the background. No dedicated computer is required and the software is configurable to take advantage of the lowest Possible telephone rates. C-MAC is available in either single or multi-user versions to support the wide range of organizations.

DV-TEL hardware is the high fidelity, high reliability solid state audio messaging equipment for remote locations. DV-TEL hardware offers MPEG 1 Layer 2 audio for superior sound and a host of potential options including background music input, multi-channel capability, local configuration, etc. In most cases, however, setup is as simple as connecting DV-TEL to the phone line and the audio system. Message download, mixing, fades, delays, volume control, etc. are all controlled from the C-MAC software at the central location.

Why digital? Transferring audio messaging material digitally allows increased quality and guaranteed delivery. The error correction implemented in digital transfers insures that the material playing from the DV-TEL equipment is an exact duplicate of the source material. Digital transfers allow the use of MPEG compression so that audio quality is not limited by the capability of the phone line. MPEG compression supports up to Compact Disc(20kHz) quality sound, greatly expanding storecasting applications.

The TDS-2000 System is helping Mackenzie achieve our vision: Making A Difference, One At A Time. Since 1954 Mackenzie has continued to revolutionize the messaging industry through the firms' message-on-hold, remote download, page stacker/feedback eliminator and message repeater product lines.
