Glendora, CA - December 8, 2000 - Mackenzie Laboratories, Inc. is awarded rights to the world wide web domain name, mackenzielabs.com.Culminating over a year of legal wrangling, the World Intellectual Property Organization(WIPO) has ordered that the domain name, mackenzielabs.com, be transferred to Mackenzie Laboratories, Inc. The co-defendants in the case, Networqs and Nel-Tech Labs, Inc., were found to have registered and used the domain in bad faith. Mackenzie and Nel-Tech compete in the area of Message On Hold and Storecasting digital message repeaters. In November of 1999, it was discovered that Nel-Tech was re-directing users from mackenzielabs.com to their own site. Requests to cease this practice resulted in those users being re-directed to a sexually elicit site. "Competition between suppliers on the basis of technology usually benefits users," states Nagy Khattar, President of Mackenzie, "but, this sort of dirty pool should make user's question their relationship with the defendants." Since 1954 Mackenzie has continued to revolutionize the messaging industry through the firm's message-on-hold, remote download, page stacker/feedback eliminator, message repeater and transit product lines. #### |
